About the Author


Fr. Aloysius Deeney OCD, currently serves the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS) as the general delegate for the East Asia and Oceania Region. He has worked in the Commissariat of Indonesia since 2012. A native of Philadelphia, he was ordained in 1974 and studied Carmelite spirituality in Avila, Spain. From 1990-1998 Father Aloysius served as provincial of the Oklahoma Province. As the general delegate of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites from 1997-2012, he was the main architect in formulating and implementing the Constitutions of the Secular Order.
